    "I woke up early and, when I saw that a storm was underway, jumped out of bed and raced to my favourite viewing spot at Hoopers Inlet," says photographer Ian Griffin. "The beautiful aurora australis was easily visible despite clouds and bright moonlight."

    In England, it was broad daylight when the CME struck. Auroras could not be seen. Nevertheless, Stuart Green of Preston, England detected the storm using his backyard magnetometer:

    "My magnetometer kicked into life mid-afternoon here in the UK," says Green. "The arrival of the CME created a severe disturbance."

    The squiggles in Green's chart represent changes in ground-level magnetic fields caused by the CME. "The sensor is buried in my garden about 0.5 meters below the surface in an East/West orientation," he explains. "This allows very sensitive (sub nanotesla) measurements of magnetic declination during geomagnetic storms."

    "Something big happened in the year A.D. 774.

    Scientists studying tree rings found a sharp increase in the amount of radioactive carbon-14 recorded in the rings of ancient Japanese cedar trees between 774 and 775. Carbon-14 can be created by cosmic ray particles arriving from space, but what causes such cosmic ray increases?

    At first, experts were at a loss to explain the event, and the team that unearthed the tree ring data last year dismissed the sun as a possible explanation.

    Now a new team of scientists argues that a solar flare is the most likely culprit.

    The sun could have released a huge and powerful blast of plasma into space called a coronal mass ejection, which, when it hit Earth, could have sparked the creation of carbon-14, suggest astrophysicists Adrian Melott of the University of Kansas and Brian Thomas of Washburn University, also in Kansas, in a paper published the Nov. 29 issue of the journal Nature.

    Carbon-14 is a variant of the normal form of carbon (carbon-12) that is common on Earth and throughout the universe. When cosmic ray particles hit Earth’s atmosphere, they can produce showers of particles such as neutrons. Some of these neutrons, in turn, hit the nitrogen nuclei that are rife in the atmosphere, and a chemical reaction occurs that transforms the nitrogen into carbon-14.

    This carbon variant is unstable and decays with a half-life of about 5,730 years (meaning half of any amount of carbon-14 will be gone in that time). For this reason, it’s a useful date marker: A tree, for example, will stop absorbing carbon once it dies, so the amount of carbon-14 left in it is a reliable indicator of how old it is.

    It had been widely known that a jump in carbon-14 occurred in the eighth century, but researchers first pinpointed this rise and fall on a year-to-year basis by looking at tree rings in a paper by Fusa Miyake of Japan’s Nagoya University and colleagues, published in the June 14 2012 issue of Nature.

    “They found that whatever made that carbon-14 bump happened really fast, and took less than one year, which called out for some really major, powerful event,” Melott told SPACE.com.

    The Japanese researchers considered that it might be a solar flare, but calculated that it would have had to have been thousands of times more powerful than the greatest one ever known, which made such a scenario unlikely.

    Now, in a new calculation, Melott and Thomas say a solar flare is a reasonable explanation.

    “Their mistake was, they assumed that the energy shot out by the sun in one of these coronal mass ejections goes out in all directions, like the light from a light bulb, but in fact it’s kind of shot out in blobs,” Melott said. In other words, there was a staggered emission of CME, which, in my view must change the very way in which we view such events.

    That adjustment meant that a solar flare need have been only about 10 or 20 times more powerful than the greatest flare on record, the so-called Carrington event of 1859. You will find the events of 1859 amazing, in that the event was at first heralded as a spectator event, and later feared as the extent of damage was calculated. Could such an event, in 2013, cause dreaded grid failure? You decide. And now for the BIG EVENT….

    Carrington Super Flare

    From August 28, 1859, until September 2, numerous sunspots and solar flares were observed on the sun. Just before noon on September 1, the British astronomer Richard Carrington observed the largest flare, which caused a major coronal mass ejection (CME) to travel directly toward Earth, taking 17.6 hours. Such a journey normally takes three to four days. This second CME moved so quickly because the first one had cleared the way of the ambient solar wind plasma.

    On September 1, 1859, Carrington and Richard Hodgson, another English amateur astronomer, independently made the first observations of a solar flare. Because of a simultaneous “crochet”observed in the Kew Observatory magnetometer record by Balfour Stewart and a geomagnetic storm observed the following day, Carrington suspected a solar-terrestrial connection. Worldwide reports on the effects of the geomagnetic storm of 1859 were compiled and published by Elias Loomis which support the observations of Carrington and Balfour Stewart.

    On September 1–2, 1859, the largest recorded geomagnetic storm occurred. Aurorae were seen around the world, even over the Caribbean; those over the Rocky Mountains were so bright that their glow awoke gold miners, who began preparing breakfast because they thought it was morning. People who happened to be awake in the northeastern US could read a newspaper by the aurora’s light.

    Telegraph systems all over Europe and North America failed, in some cases shocking telegraph operators. Telegraph pylons threw sparks and telegraph paper spontaneously caught fire. Some telegraph systems continued to send and receive messages despite having been disconnected from their power supplies.

    On September 3, 1859, the Baltimore American and Commercial Advertiser reported, “Those who happened to be out late on Thursday night had an opportunity of witnessing another magnificent display of the auroral lights. The phenomenon was very similar to the display on Sunday night, though at times the light was, if possible, more brilliant, and the prismatic hues more varied and gorgeous. The light appeared to cover the whole firmament, apparently like a luminous cloud, through which the stars of the larger magnitude indistinctly shone. The light was greater than that of the moon at its full, but had an indescribable softness and delicacy that seemed to envelop everything upon which it rested. Between 12 and 1 o’clock, when the display was at its full brilliancy, the quiet streets of the city resting under this strange light, presented a beautiful as well as singular appearance.” rather poetic imagery.     CHANCE OF FLARES TODAY: Although it has been mostly quiet for the past 48 hours, sunspot AR3615 poses a continued threat for strong solar flares. The giant active region an unstable delta-class magnetic field that harbors potential energy for significant eruptions.     A SHARP REDUCTION IN COSMIC RAYS: Astronauts on the International Space Station got a break from their daily dose of cosmic rays on March 24th when radiation levels suddenly dropped more than 14%. What happened? A coronal mass ejection (CME) swept the radiation aside:

    This is called a "Forbush decrease," named after American physicist Scott Forbush who studied cosmic rays in the early 20th century. It happens when a CME sweeps past Earth and pushes galactic cosmic rays away from our planet. Radiation from deep space that would normally pepper space stations, satellites, and Earth’s upper atmosphere is briefly wiped out.

    In the graph, above, the Forbush decrease is shown as a downward spike in neutron counts recorded at the Sodankyla Geophysical Observatory in Oulu, Finland. Neutrons are a well-known proxy for cosmic rays. When cosmic rays strike Earth's upper atmosphere, they produce a spray of neutrons that reach the ground below. Sensors in Oulu count these "secondary cosmic rays" to monitor activity in space.

    This week's Forbush decrease is the biggest of Solar Cycle 25 (so far), exceeding the previous record-holder on Nov. 3-4, 2021 when a potent Cannibal CME dropped neutron counts by 11%.

    GIANT SUNSPOT APPROACHES "THE DANGER ZONE": After a few days of stalled progress, sunspot AR3615 is growing again. A 50% increase in surface area since yesterday has ballooned one of its dark cores to triple the size of Earth.

    "The massive sunspot group AR3615 was clearly visible through the clouds, while AR3619 and AR3614, respectively, can be seen above that group."

    As Charron's photo shows, AR3615 is approaching the western edge of the sun. That's "the danger zone." Sunspots located there are magnetically connected to Earth via the Parker Spiral. If AR3615 erupts while it is transiting the danger zone, energetic protons and electrons may be funneled back toward our planet for a days-long radiation storm.

    Reports pouring in say that the government in many states is warning people to be ready for the eclipse:

    There are hundreds of signs on New York highways warning me that a “solar eclipse is coming, use mass transit”

    here in Louisiana: electronic billboards. On the East and West Sides of I-10, they started 14 days before the eclipse.

    I don't believe any of it.
    I've lived through plenty of solar eclipses.
    This hype is unprecedented.
    Reminds me of that Simpson episode.....
    Nothing natural will harm us that day.
    So what are they planning?

    I have seen an eclipse before, and although it is unusual, it is a natural event, and only lasts a minute or so, if that. Frankly, I am surprised there is so much hype about this one. I find no legitimate reason to cause panic about it from the government.

    Will the government do a false flag during that time? Anything is possible, but personally I doubt it. Things are building towards a major war in the middle east and against Russia in the coming weeks and months. And, a typical eclipse has no bearing on those events.
    Is here a possibility that the eclipse will reveal a large object near the sun? Maybe, but that isn't anything new. We get reports of objects all the time around the sun, very large ones, and nothing comes of it. The truth is, a major galactic event cannot be hidden, whether it appears during an eclipse or approaches earth. That elongated asteroid is supposed to return again soon, and seems to be controlled, and not on a natural pathway.

    Will the globalist launch a fake alien invasion at this time? I don't see the relevance of launching a fake invasion during an eclipse. That type of manufactured event would possibly involve major electrical disruptions, an EMP type event, and sightings in populated areas. But keep in mind, a fabricated alien invasion would have a beginning and an end. It would not be able to be maintained for a lengthy amount of time. They would simply not have the resources to maintain that large of an event.

    One of the biggest problems we may face in the future are the globalists imitating a EMP or solar eruption event, by using nukes in the upper atmosphere during solar eruptions. The result of the damage would not be known to be "human created", and people would not be able to differentiate between a fake event and a real one. To be honest, there are so many false flag options available to the conspirators, that it would take too long to list them all, and the list is growing every week.

    They now have the ability to control the weather, fabricate a pandemic, create earthquakes, cause tsunamis, and make a volcano explode. It is anyone's guess what they will do next.

    But as far as this eclipse on the 8th of April, it is a non-event in my opinion. And if it was more than they are telling us, there is little we could do about it anyway.     George Eaton

    Carol, thank-you for this thread (and all you do). The first video below is very interesting. I've been passively following the work of Douglas B. Vogt for several years. RIP. I know you have as well. That 2040's stuff deeply frightens me. Regarding the Sun going Nova, my bias is that the major components of this solar system might be able to move anywhere the Galactic PTB wants them to go, under their own power.     A strong and shallow earthquake registered by the USGS as M7.4 hit eastern Taiwan at 23:58 UTC on April 2, 2024 (07:58 LT, April 3). The agency is reporting a depth of 34.8 km (21.6 miles). EMSC is reporting M7.4 at a depth of 20 km (12.4 miles). This is the strongest quake to hit Taiwan since the 1999 Jiji earthquake. The epicenter was located 18.1 km (11.2 miles) SSW of Hualien City (population 350 468), 62.4 km (38.8 miles) ESE of Puli (population 86 406), 82.8 km (51.4 miles) E of Lugu (population 17 746), and 90.5 km (56.2 miles) E of Zhongxing New Village (population 25 549), Taiwan. 213 000 people are estimated to have felt severe shaking, 537 000 very strong, 15 665 000 strong and 3 191 000 moderate.

    THE STRANGE CHILL OF THE MOON'S SHADOW: A 100-mile wide shaft of cool air is about to race through Earth's atmosphere faster than 1500 mph. It's the shadow of the Moon created by Monday's total eclipse of the sun. This animation shows the progress of darkness across the United States:

    Solar eclipses make their own weather--starting with the temperature. How much the temperature falls depends on the humidity. Dry environments could see a drop of 8 to 14 degrees, less so if it’s humid. According to NASA, an eclipse in Zambia on June 21, 2001, reduced the temperature nearly 15 degrees.

    The reduction in temperature can make clouds disappear. Satellites observing eclipses from Earth orbit have detected many examples. A 10-year study just published in Nature found that cumulus clouds begin dissipating when a mere 15 percent of the sun is covered. In some cases, clouds didn’t start to return until 50 minutes after maximum eclipse.

    This could be good news for eclipse chasers in Mexico and Texas, where widespread cloud cover is expected on April 8th. The eclipse itself might help clear the sky.

    Culebra Event

    The Culebra event is an upcoming globally devastating mega earthquake that will result in permanent changes worldwide to current human society. It will be by far the largest earthquake in modern times.

    The cause of this mega earthquake will be from the release of a jammed section of the Pacific plate. The Pacific plate is locked against the plates next to it, and is very tightly jammed under Japan. There are signs that the Pacific plate is getting close to the point that it will no longer hold up against the built-up pressure and release in the mega earthquake. It is estimated that the size of the Culebra event will be magnitude 10.3 or greater with epicenter about 200 km northeast of Tokyo, Japan. The latest estimate for timing is by year 2024. The main rupture path should run from Guam, through Japan, and through Alaska and may extend to Taiwan and other areas of the west Pacific.

    The major impacts will include damage from shaking on a global scale, seiche waves, and tsunamis. Areas without earthquake building protections will be most susceptible to major damages from the earthquake worldwide. These are parts of the world that don't usually have major seismic activity like New York City, London, Paris, Hong Kong, and Sao Paulo. The result will be an extensive debris field of ruined cities, pipelines and other infrastructure, and ships dragged and deposited inland. The tsunami is estimated to be several hundreds of meters high when it smashes into the west coast of the US, destroying urban areas well inland from the coast such as in metro LA and San Francisco Bay area. Seiche waves will cause extensive flooding of low-lying areas in other parts of the world such as the east coast of the United States.

    The strongest signs showing that this mega earthquake is coming are from the slowdown in earthquakes in certain areas and change in earthquake types. North America has seen a significant decrease in major earthquakes since the end of the 1800s, and starting later in the 1900s for a wide portion of Europe. Across Asia, a wide area that once had massive earthquakes like magnitude 8+ more often stopped getting them several decades ago. Earthquakes bigger than magnitude 7.7 have also been paused in a very wide area all around the Philippine blocking location for many years. The corridor from Southern Japan through most of the Philippines has seen a long pause in earthquakes bigger than magnitude 7.1 that has been happening since the end of the last century. Many areas in the west Pacific have not seen thrust earthquakes of magnitude 7.0 or larger in many years. Examples include the region extending from Toyko, all the way down through the Philippines. And the eastern boundary of the Australia plate from Fiji, down to New Zealand where there has been a large number of magnitude 7+ earthquakes, but no thrust type. This is a sign of restricted plate movement.

    After the Culebra event, human life will be very different but with minimal changes to wildlife and habitats. The global economy will completely collapse and global trade and industrial output will grind to a complete halt. There will be a major drop in the global human population ranging from tens of millions of people to as much as billions.
