It would not surprise me if it is in the Madison River area. Think of Kilauea. This volcano has been active for years... just oozing away. I've been to Yellowstone and seen the bubbling mud pits. My concern had always been an ELE given that it is a caldera. However, a small eruption may be more like something we experience here on Big Island and it may be a safe way for the area to release pressure without destroying the entire surrounding areas. ET has been consistant on this and he has been on target with everything. I love the Yellowstone area and do pray it this is to happen it remains small with no loss of life.

March 14, 2011 - This is from Nicolai (ET)

Now, dangerous time zone of 18th ~22nd is for Japan.

The west coast line, California should be alert at the same time frame,
but Yellow stone's dangerous zone stay the same, from 15th, Carol.

    I asked Nicholai now.
You may want to tell them, the people near the Yellowstone,
to be alert from 15th to the end of March.

So many things are happening at an unbelievable speed.

I'll keep you posted if I hear any further info.

Keeping watch on on another station monitor for the last 12 hours. I have been saving the data images regularly, so if they disappear as much of the info in the US does, I can upload or host them.

Station is: YNR Norris junction, right near the center of the park.

Stations YMR - Madison River and YMR - Norris Junction still going with a unified jolt throughout all stations at one point today. This has been a over 24 hour movement. USGS is seeming to be more untrustworthy with their reports. State by state seismic monitoring seems to be the most accurate versus the USGS site.

    http://www.isthisthingon.org/Yellowstone/daythumbs.php

Once again I am saving these graphs every hour or so just in case. However, I am slightly questioning the accuracy of everything right now and all sources, including this one. (AKA, the world is a mess right now so I don't know who to believe.)

    And I just found this,

    http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message1398794/pg1

there is mining in Yellowstone apparently. so isthisthingon.org may not be accurate either.

    And this article is interesting...

And there is Gas drilling in Yellowstone?????

    http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/greenspace/2011/03/gas-blowouts-wyoming-yellowstone.html

This brings everything back to square one; it is all about gas and oil.

If I could get there somehow, and back safety, I would go to give a first hand report. Never been. Is there any members that live near yellow stone or know anyone? Seems like we are all spread out fairly well here throughout the world.

Hmmm, gives me an idea, a location reality check thread. Members would know best here, for the most part. Daily, weekly, and whenever geological check in.

NO, we did not speak with Yogi for his famous reports because as you know Floyd it is winter there with lots of snow and ice. Bears hibernate. Silly Floyd Malletzky

An on-site look around would be nice but sticking to the seismic monitors is much safer immortalis. :heart2:

Norris Junction looks the most active today and the other monitor much more quiet.

Conductivity image hints volcano plume is bigger than thought

SALT LAKE CITY, April 11, 2011 – University of Utah geophysicists made the first large-scale picture of the electrical conductivity of the gigantic underground plume of hot and partly molten rock that feeds the Yellowstone supervolcano. The image suggests the plume is even bigger than it appears in earlier images made with earthquake waves.

"It's like comparing ultrasound and MRI in the human body; they are different imaging technologies," says geophysics Professor Michael Zhdanov, principal author of the new study and an expert on measuring magnetic and electrical fields on Earth's surface to find oil, gas, minerals and geologic structures underground.

"It's a totally new and different way of imaging and looking at the volcanic roots of Yellowstone," says study co-author Robert B. Smith, professor emeritus and research professor of geophysics and a coordinating scientist of the Yellowstone Volcano Observatory.

The new University of Utah study has been accepted for publication in Geophysical Research Letters, which plans to publish it within the next few weeks.

In a December 2009 study, Smith used seismic waves from earthquakes to make the most detailed seismic images yet of the "hotspot" plumbing that feeds the Yellowstone volcano. Seismic waves move faster through cold rock and slower through hot rock. Measurements of seismic-wave speeds were used to make a three-dimensional picture, quite like X-rays are combined to make a medical CT scan.

The 2009 images showed the plume of hot and molten rock dips downward from Yellowstone at an angle of 60 degrees and extends 150 miles west-northwest to a point at least 410 miles under the Montana-Idaho border – as far as seismic imaging could "see."

In the new study, images of the Yellowstone plume's electrical conductivity – generated by molten silicate rocks and hot briny water mixed in partly molten rock – shows the conductive part of the plume dipping more gently, at an angle of perhaps 40 degrees to the west, and extending perhaps 400 miles from east to west. The geoelectric image can "see" only 200 miles deep.

Two Views of the Yellowstone Volcanic Plume

Smith says the geoelectric and seismic images of the Yellowstone plume look somewhat different because "we are imaging slightly different things." Seismic images highlight materials such as molten or partly molten rock that slow seismic waves, while the geoelectric image is sensitive to briny fluids that conduct electricity.

    Electricity=TIME.
Time flows in double birkeland sheaths( visualise DNA)
We are approaching the point of no time, think of the point at the centre of a figure of eight.
The dual flows of time are going out of balance as We approach such a point, they tend to keep each other neutral when they are alike.
Theses are all consequences of how time flows , and of where this solar system is entering.
Volcanos are not fed from a mythical molten core, they are the result of huge resistances set up near the surface, then transmutation occurs, as all is one.

Yellowstone: the world’s most dangerous volcano is moving
Posted on May 21, 2011 by The Extinction Protocol
May 21, 2011 – YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyoming - The nation’s oldest park is also one of the most studied. The interest is not just in its amazing vistas and wildlife, but in the volcanic beast below the park. Yellowstone sits atop one of the world’s biggest, active volcanoes, one capable of laying waste to much of North America. Scientists keep an eye on it using a network of seismic and GPS sensors. Professor Emeritus Robert Smith of the University of Utah is one of those scientists. A geophysicist, Smith a leading expert on the Yellowstone super volcano. “We monitor it in real time for earthquake swarms and ground deformation.” He says the park is in constant motion. Visitors can’t see it, but the ground at their feet is moving up and down as magma pushes against the thin crust and powers the park’s many geysers. The changes are most evident at the Norris Geyser Basin. Henry Heasler, the Yellowstone Park geologist said, “It changes daily. Sometimes it’s hard to keep up with the change near boardwalks because that impacts visitor and employee safety. Why are all the hydrothermal features here?” Heasler continued, “The geysers? The mud pots? The steam vents? The hot springs? It’s because of the heat beneath our feet.” The heat from the volcano is the culprit. And beginning in 2004, volcanic pressure caused an amazing rise at the park: Three-inches a year for five-years. Professor Smith said, “That’s a lot of uplift and it’s over an area that’s over the entire Yellowstone caldera — 50-miles long of uplift.” “If you went under a rubber sheet,” Heasler said describing the uplift, “And pushed your thumb up, it’s not just sticking up where your thumb is, there’s like a slope to it.” In fact, as the land has bulged, Yellowstone lake has tilted enough that its water has flooded out trees on the south arms. And now, the ground is sinking. And the drop has brought up a whole new set of questions for scientists. “Why haven’t the trees emerged again?” asked Heasler. “We don’t know.” They are watching the data as well as the geothermal features of the park for clues. At times, those geologists see themselves are doctors monitoring a patient. In this case, the patient took a deep breath (between 2004-09) and now it is letting it out. That much is clear from the observations. The unanswered question is, “why?” –ABC 4

YELLOWSTONE WATCH - Page 2 Empty Re: YELLOWSTONE WATCH

Post  Carol Wed Jun 01, 2011 10:37 am

Volcanologist Clive Oppenheimer yesterday warned there was a one-in-500 chance of the world being hit by a super- volcano this century.

The reader in vulcanology at Cambridge University told a Hay audience: “That might not sound like much, but it is a lot more likely than an asteroid impact.

“The events in Japan remind us that you can have a tsunami and earthquake and a nuclear plant there as well and you can have these chain reaction events that are actually quite calamitous and they are not unimaginable.”

Examining geological, historical and archeological records, the expert took the audience on a journey back to three volcanic eruptions that have shaken the world – the 1815 Tambora volcano in Indonesia that killed 100,000 people, the 1783 eruption of Kaki in Iceland and the massive Toba eruption in indonesia that pumped 3,000 cubic km of magma into the atmosphere around 75,000 years ago, leaving behind a lake-filled crater in North Sumatra 100km long and 30km wide.

If such an eruption was to happen tomorrow, he said, the world would be far more vulnerable.

He said: “The world population is bigger, for one thing, and many people are living in abject poverty who are already very vulnerable.

“The effects would be huge, both to people and to the technological world.”

The 2010 Eyjafjallajokull eruption in Iceland woke the world up to the threat posed by large-scale clouds of ash, he said.

“Communications become very vulnerable, with disruption to mobile phone communications.

“We do need to think about all these vulnerabilities, both the technological risks and the humanitarian ones.”

He added that evidence shows category-eight earthquakes can trigger volcanoes 1000km away, and that this year’s devastating earthquake off the coast of Japan would be likely to trigger a volcano elsewhere in the country.

    “They are linked,” he said.

“Statistically, we could say within the next six months there is likely to be an eruption in Japan because of the events this year.

“Global warming and melting of the ice caps will also have an effect, because a lot of volcanoes are under the ice which, when you remove that loading, will also statistically be more likely to erupt.”

NASA's Landsat finds problems under Yellowstone's Old Faithful

December 17, 2011 – Wyoming - Yellowstone National Park – NASA’s Landsat satellites have been tracking Yellowstone’s underground geothermal activity, a deep heat that is stored 4,000 miles into the earth’s core. But there are areas where these energy levels are becoming erratic. Old Faithful could be in trouble. The Landsat Program is jointly managed by NASA and the U.S. Geological Survey, beginning its services of remote sensing in 1972. It became part of the Yellowstone National Park’s new monitoring plan in 2005. In addition to remote sensing, Landsat also uses airborne reconnaissance in order to “observe geothermal changes across all of Yellowstone in a systematic and scientific manner.” (NASA) Up until recently, the heat coming from Yellowstone’s underground magma chamber has always been the fuel for over 10,000 of the volcano’s features: Old faithful, hot springs, geysers, mud spots, terraces and mud pots. But NASA is reporting that the Landsat imagery has picked up some unexpected developments outside the park’s borders, also picked up by energy companies beyond the park’s borders. “If that geothermal development outside of the park begins, we need to know whether that’s going to cause Old Faithful to suddenly stop spewing,” says Rick Lawrence of Montana State University. The Landsat satellite allows the scientists to recognize big changes occurring in the geothermal area, like Yellowstone. However, nobody knows what is happening or where due to the satellite’s large pixel size in its imagery. But clues are being found regarding the interconnection of the underground geothermal events. –Digital Journal

The Landsat Program is a series of Earth-observing satellite missions jointly managed by NASA and the U.S. Geological Survey. Since 1972, Landsat satellites have collected information about Earth from space. This science, known as remote sensing, has matured with the Landsat Program.
